Have A Ballsy New Year
The year is winding down. Christmas is just around the corner and not long after that, it will be 2007. We won’t be in town for the New Year. Instead, we’ll be travelling eastwards to attend a close friend’s wedding dinner on New Year’s eve. And there’s another wedding dinner the day before that. Double header! I’m going to feel so bloated and wasted when the dust settles.

- Pineapplanade -
Although we won’t be around, doesn’t mean we won’t be part of a New Year’s celebration. While we were down in Singapore a fortnight ago, we happened across this nice lady in Esplanade. You know, that big building shaped like two halves of a giant pineapple on a serving plate.

- Lady In Charge -
The lady was standing around and trying to convince people to put their greetings down on beachballs.

- Some Poser… -
The balls came in all sizes. Some were big, some were not so big, some were small, and some were smaller still. They all had one thing in common. All of the were plain, white, and ugly. That is of course until someone decorates their surface with season greetings. That’s exactly what we did.

- Big Small Yin Yang Balls -
I noticed a pair of Yin Yang sized balls lying in the corner. One big, one small. Kinda reminds me of the mismatched balls of this white dude I saw in the gym locker room while we were in Singapore. Really don’t understand why they have to strip and walk around with their equipment hanging out. This huge bloke with a dong THIS BIG…

- …HUGE THING! -
Anyway, back to the story of the balls. They are actually for the big Singapore New Year’s bash. They are going to have some 5000 white balls. All the balls will have season greetings written on them by visitors to Singapore from across the globe. The balls will be released at the stroke of midnight to bid adieu to the old year and usher in the new one. Very grand indeed. I hate to be the guy who has to clean up the mess.

- Season Greetings -
