Working Sunday And Other Stuff
Yeah, you read that right. It’s a Sunday and I’m working with five other colleagues (including my manager). It’s been a long while since I’ve had to come in to the office on a weekend or even work overtime for that matter. WL says that my work schedule is finally resembling a ‘normal’ one. Whatever normal means.
The reason we’re all at the office today in our Sunday shorts and T is because we’re prepping for a new software version release. The handover to QA happens on Tuesday and we’re performing final integration tests on the code changes. While we could just as easily have done this on Monday, we didn’t want to run the risk of not having any turnaround buffer in case anything breaks.
On the bright side, this will all be over on Tuesday… hopefully. Just in time for Valentines Day and the Chinese New Year celebrations. I think I’ll cash in my leave in lieu on Wednesday and perhaps convince WL to take a day off
Speaking of lovey dovey mushy stuff, among my mail today was an announcement by two of my uni-mates that they are getting hitched. While I’ve known this for some time, I didn’t know the specific details. Now I do. Kiat Sing and Sheau Wen, congratulations!

Seeing some of the pictures brings back fond memories. It’s hard to believe that next year, I’ll be a decade over 18. Was having a dinner conversation with lkclee yesterday and he was saying that “eating out at a ‘dai chow’ place is a sign of getting old“. That’s a funny thought. I’ve been eating at those places for the longest time. I must be ancient…

A decade over 18. So young. Haiz…
Sound like my wife. Working long hard hours for a deployment. I hope she can celebrate CNY.
gbyeow: The inconsistent hours suck. Now I have too much time on my hands. Hope your missus can get away from work to do some celebrating
