Too Much Shopping
Been busy shopping over the weekend. From Friday through Sunday, I must have clocked up at least the equivalent of 20 hours on the treadmill.
It all started with a trip to the PIKOM PC Fair in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Managed to buy a WiFi Router and signup for a new Streamyx 1MB line. Both were for our (WL and I) new place. The Streamyx 1MB broadband account comes with an ADSL modem for RM77 a month so I didn’t have to get one myself. That was about 4 hours walking back and forth between the halls. The carpark fees (RM11!) was a killer and offset any discounts I got at the fair. You might ask why do I still bother with the PC Fair. Well, it’s out of habit and just for the fun of it.
Friday was followed up with a Saturday spent scouring the shops in Suria KLCC, Sungai Wang, and Lot 10 for bridal shoes/slippers for WL and shirts for me. At close of business (10pm), we only managed a pair of heels to go with the evening gown that WL was going to wear. The material and colour of the slippers were so similar to that of the evening gown that I insisted on getting it. We wound up leaving Sungai Wang after having spent 8 hours shopping. Unfortunately, everyone else was also leaving the carpark and we were stuck INSIDE for an hour! Piece of advice: don’t park your car in Sungai Wang if you intend to leave at 10pm on weekends.
We topped it all off with Sunday at 1-Utama and Mid Valley Megamall. After going through all the standalone shops like Primavera and Lewre, WL finally managed to find her bridal shoes in U-Parkson. It was a pair of off-white heels from Lewre. The standalone outlet didn’t have it in her size so I was quite surprised that U-Parkson had new stock in that style. I wound up buying a white G2000 cuff link shirt from U-Parkson and a little surprise from Metrojaya Mid Valley. It’s a surprise because it’s an addition to my wardrobe that I haven’t had since my college years. You’ll have to wait to see what it is. An overall productive day as we managed to get most of the stuff we set out for. We were out of the house at 10.30am and only got home at 7.00pm.
Needless to say, my legs were numb after the weekend shopping. The good news is that I’ve more or less recovered from the ordeal. Unfortunately, I can foresee more shopping on the horizon. My wallet’s getting a little thin as well…
