Sick And Home Alone
My colleagues in the office have been getting sick one after another. I’ve been trying to avoid getting sick for the last month. After weeks of avoiding it, the flu has finally gotten a foothold in my system. Can’t say that it’s a pleasant feeling. It was bad enough that I called in sick and wound up home alone while WL went to work.

It’s been in the news that Australia is on high alert for the Equine Flu after several horses shipped from Japan have been infected with the horsey strain of influenza. Meanwhile, Germany’s been putting contracts out on the heads of poultry for carrying the dangerous Avian Influenza (or more commonly known as bird flu). After paying a visit to the doctor, I wonder what sort of infection did I catch. Hopefully, it’s nothing more than the common cold.
Anyway, the doctor issued the usual prescription of broad spectrum antibiotics. It’s the defacto cure all and sheriff to reign in any infection. Personally, I’m not a great fan of this practice. I’ll try and rough it out for another day and see if my body can’t beat back the flu on its own. To help it along, I’ve been trying to drown the infection with fluids. A mix of chicken soup, green tea, and cans of 100+ isotonic drink. The good news is that it’s managed to keep the fever in check with one minor side effect. I’ve had to piss every hour on the hour since I started.
We’ll just have to wait and see how that decision pans out tomorrow.
