Sick And Home Alone

August 28th, 2007

My colleagues in the office have been getting sick one after another. I’ve been trying to avoid getting sick for the last month. After weeks of avoiding it, the flu has finally gotten a foothold in my system. Can’t say that it’s a pleasant feeling. It was bad enough that I called in sick and wound up home alone while WL went to work. Read the rest of this entry »

Too Much Shopping

August 7th, 2007

Been busy shopping over the weekend. From Friday through Sunday, I must have clocked up at least the equivalent of 20 hours on the treadmill. Read the rest of this entry »

Happy Belated Father’s Day

July 4th, 2007

Last weekend, WL and I finally managed to bring back our Father’s Day gift for my dad. By my calendar, we were 2 weeks late. I suppose it’s the thought that counts. Read the rest of this entry »

Should Have Stayed Home Today…

June 21st, 2007

Took my cousin out for mamak last night. After a late dinner/supper, we adjourned to Old Town White Coffee for more drinks and chit chat. We stayed out till around one in the morning before calling it a day. I think I’m still suffering the effects of the late night. My eyelids are really heavy. Read the rest of this entry »

Taking A Break

June 8th, 2007

I’m on leave today. A much needed break from the buzz of work. The last couple of weeks have been crazy in terms of frustrations and deadlines. Throw a flu bug into the mix and you’ve got yourself two very ugly weeks. Read the rest of this entry »

Working For IBM

May 29th, 2007

It’s been about a month since I officially joined the IBM workforce. There’s been a lot of Blue (brain) washing going on where they tell you how great the company is, give you some tips on getting ahead, and give you an overall feel good factor about being one of the 350,000 people globally, lucky enough to become an IBM drone. But being an IBMer does have its perks (you can just sense the sarcasm coming). Read the rest of this entry »

The Simple Things

May 11th, 2007

Was down at McDonald’s just a few minutes ago for a tea break. I’m in the middle of a project and the deadline is drawing near (end of business today, if you would believe). The fast food restaurant was relatively empty, save for a guy tapping away on a notebook and a group of secondary schoolers, two guys and two girls, having a good laugh. Call me a voyeur but I was captivated by the fun they were having. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s Been A While…

April 20th, 2007

Does this mean that there’s nothing new happening in my life? Highly probably, very likely, yes. Damn I lead a dull life. It’s been very much the same routine cycling over the last month. Get up in the morning, take a shower, go to work, have lunch, work some more, head home, have dinner, watch some Japanese anime, go to bed. The only thing spectacular about it is the monotony. We Came, We Ran, We Conquered…

March 19th, 2007

… and I feel like crap. My muscles and joints ache from running the 10km that I had foolishly signed up for in the Kuala Lumpur International Marathon 2007 Fun Run category. In my current condition, I really can’t see where the ‘fun’ was. Read the rest of this entry »

Blue Training

March 7th, 2007

Monday was Day 1 after acquisition of the company I work for by IBM. Now we’re a wholly owned subsidiary of IBM. Transfer of employment and transfer of trade are tentatively on 1st May and 1st August 2007 respectively. Yesterday, we all got our nifty new IBM Lenovo ThinkPad T60p’s and IBM employee badges.
