Paul Potts was the winner of Britain’s Got Talent, a show created by Simon Cowell. The first time I heard this, it brought tears to my eyes (and the second time… and the third time… ok I’m a beepin’ cry baby!). The music and his voice just moves you. Everything seems to be falling apart at work. The servers are down, the internet connection is down (well, it just came back up), VPN access to our parent company is down, Domino Docs is down, the source control license server is down. Since practically every aspect that is critical to my job function is down, it’s been a slow and unproductive day at work. I’m tempted to call it a day and leave the office. My colleagues in the office have been getting sick one after another. I’ve been trying to avoid getting sick for the last month. After weeks of avoiding it, the flu has finally gotten a foothold in my system. Can’t say that it’s a pleasant feeling. Took my cousin out for mamak last night. After a late dinner/supper, we adjourned to Old Town White Coffee for more drinks and chit chat. It’s been about a month since I officially joined the IBM workforce. There’s been a lot of Blue (brain) washing going on where they tell you how great the company is, give you some tips on getting ahead, and give you an overall feel good factor about being one of the 350,000 people globally, lucky enough to become an IBM drone.
